September 2025 — Nassau County Fall Events
Bellmore Family Street Festival (Street Fair + Carnival)
Where: Bellmore LIRR Station, Sunrise Hwy., Bellmore
When: Street Fair 10 am–6 pm, Sept. 21; Carnival noon–9 pm, Sept. 21 (rain date Oct. 16–19)
Why go: Enjoy a massive community turnout featuring live entertainment, kids’ activities, craft vendors, and a variety of comfort foods.
Local tip: Park on residential side streets north of Sunrise and walk in. Grab a cold brew and a crumb cake to fuel your stroll.
Egyptian Festival (Family Culture Fest)
Where: St. Mark Coptic Church Center, 90 Woodbury Dr., Woodbury
When: Noon–6 pm Sept. 21 & 28; 6–9 pm Sept. 26; noon–9 pm Sept. 27
Why go: Authentic Egyptian cuisine, music, bazaars, crafts, and an all-new pharaonic show.
Local tip: Come hungry; the dessert table alone is worth the trip. Bring cash for quick vendor lines.
Long Island Family Day at the Cradle of Aviation
Where: Cradle of Aviation Museum, Uniondale
When: Noon–3 pm Sept. 21 (free with reserved ticket)
Why go: Hands-on STEM/STEAM activities, bounce houses, face painting, raffles, and giveaways—perfect for elementary and middle schoolers.
Local tip: Reserve your ticket early; these time slots fill fast.
Long Island Music Lovers Fair (Record & Collectors Show)
Where: American Legion Hall—Massapequa Post 1066, 66 Veterans Blvd., Massapequa
When: 10 am–3 pm Sept. 21
Why go: Dig for vinyl, CDs, DVDs, and memorabilia.
Local tip: Serious crate-diggers arrive at 10 sharp; bring a tote.
Nassau Boulevard Street Fair & Foodie Fest
Where: Nassau Blvd., West Hempstead
When: 10 am–5 pm Sept. 21
Why go: Quarter-mile craft market, Foodie Fest food trucks, kids’ fun zone, and live music.
Local tip: Check the food truck lineup beforehand and plan your “snack crawl.”
Ompahfest at Plattduetsche Park (Big German Fest)
Where: Plattduetsche Park Biergarten, 1132 Hempstead Tpke., Franklin Square
When: 11 am–10 pm Sept. 21
Why go: German bands (some straight from Germany), steins, pretzels, dancing, kids’ activities, and vendors.
Local tip: Arrive early for closer parking; late afternoon is peak energy and longer lines.
Greek Festival on the Harbor
Where: North Hempstead Beach Park, 175 W. Shore Rd., Port Washington
When: 9 am–5 pm Sept. 25; 4–11 pm Sept. 26; noon–11 pm Sept. 27; noon–8 pm Sept. 29
Why go: Rides, games, and a delicious tour of Greek favorites with a waterfront backdrop.
Local tip: Sunset at the park + loukoumades = perfect fall evening.
Eisenhower Park Art, Craft & Gift Vendor Fair
Where: Eisenhower Park, Field 8 (Merrick & Stewart Aves.), East Meadow
When: 10 am–5 pm Sept. 27–28
Why go: 75+ makers with seasonal décor, gifts, and unique finds.
Local tip: Bring a wagon if you’re shopping for holiday gifts early.
Columbus Lodge Italian Feast & Festival
Where: North Broadway (between N. Beech St. & N. Nassau Ave.), North Massapequa
When: 11 am–6 pm Sept. 28 (rain date Oct. 5)
Why go: Live entertainment, rides, games, and classic Italian street-festival fare.
Local tip: Try the sausage and peppers, then stroll among the vendors.
October 2025 — Nassau County Fall Events
Oktoberfest Days at Plattduetsche
Where: Plattduetsche Park Biergarten, Franklin Square
When: Evenings Oct. 3–4 & 10–11; afternoons Oct. 5 & 12
Why go: Steins on tap, oom-pah music, dance floor energy, and hearty German menus.
Local tip: Fridays/Saturdays add a small cover—arrive before the band to snag seating.
Spooky Fest at Tanglewood Preserve
Where: Center for Science Teaching & Learning, 1450 Tanglewood Rd., Rockville Centre
When: 6–9:30 pm Oct. 3–5, 10–12, 17–19, 24–26 (rain or shine)
Why go: Two paths: a full Spooky Walk (jump-scares, zombies, robotic dinos) and an Enchanted Not-So-Spooky Walk for younger kids. Face painting, crafts, music, and a glow tent are also available.
Local tip: Lines are shortest right at open and late in the evening. Strollers are easier on the Not-So-Spooky path.
Franklin Square Street Fair
Where: Franklin Ave. (Fenworth Blvd. to Hempstead Tpke..), Franklin Square
When: 10 am–5 pm Oct. 4
Why go: 65+ vendors, food trucks, petting zoo, pony rides, and live entertainment.
Local tip: Pair this with a bakery stop along Hempstead Turnpike for post-fair treats.
Pumpkin Festival (Community Fall Day)
Where: United Methodist Church of Port Washington, 35 Middle Neck Rd., Port Washington
When: 10 am–3 pm Oct. 4
Why go: Hayrides, petting zoo, games, BBQ, bake sale, and a pumpkin patch—classic fall fun.
Local tip: Bring small bills for games and bake sale goodies.
The Covert Avenue Chamber of Commerce Street Fair
Where: Covert Ave. (Tulip Ave. to Cisney Ave.), Floral Park
When: 11 am–5 pm Oct. 4 (rain date Oct. 18)
Why go: 60+ artisans, kids’ inflatables, rock wall, and a trackless choo-choo.
Local tip: Make it a family photo day—the fall storefronts make great backdrops.
Seaford Octoberfest
Where: Seaford LIRR Station along Sunrise Hwy., Seaford
When: 10 am–4 pm Oct. 4 (rain date Oct. 18)
Why go: 60+ artisans, an 11-truck food rumble, kids’ fun zone, rock wall, beer garden, and live music.
Local tip: Save room for the empanadas—and the BBQ.
AOH Irish Day Parade & Festival
Where: Washington Blvd. & W. Beech St., Long Beach
When: 11 am–5 pm Oct. 4
Why go: A beloved Long Beach tradition with bands, Irish culture, vendors, and plenty of post-parade fun.
Local tip: Wear comfy shoes—W. Beech becomes a pedestrian party.
Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers Open House (Model Trains!)
Where: Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers, 2953 Hempstead Tpke., Levittown
When: 1–4 pm Oct. 4–5
Why go: Long Island’s largest operating O-gauge layout—train lovers of all ages geek out over this.
Local tip: Kids love the elevated lines; bring a step stool for little conductors.
Bethpage Street Fair
Where: Broadway, Bethpage
When: 10 am–5 pm Oct. 5
Why go: 100+ vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, and small-town fall vibes.
Local tip: Start at the north end and work your way south to beat the mid-day crowds.
Massapequa Park Street Fair
Where: Park Blvd. (Sunrise Hwy. to Clark Blvd.) & Front St., Massapequa Park
When: 10:30 am–4:30 pm Oct. 5 (rain date Oct. 12)
Why go: 200+ vendors, three live stages, a kids’ fun zone, a food truck rodeo, an Islanders slap-shot booth, and the Pequa Choo-Choo.
Local tip: If you’re bringing strollers, aim for earlier hours.
Mineola Street Fair
Where: Jericho Tpke. (Mineola Blvd. to Willis Ave..), Mineola
When: 10 am–5 pm Oct. 5 (rain date Oct. 12)
Why go: Craft vendors, food truck court, petting zoo, a car show, and live entertainment.
Local tip: Hop over to Mineola Memorial Park after to let the kids run.
Fall Colonial Fair
Where: Sands-Willets House (Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society), 336 Port Washington Blvd., Port Washington
When: 10 am–4 pm Oct. 11
Why go: Live music, artisan demos, petting zoo, pony rides, and local food vendors on a historic property.
Local tip: Tour the house first, then shop—lines are shorter earlier.
Eisenhower Park Art, Craft & Gift Vendor Fair (Encore)
Where: Field 8, East Meadow
When: 10 am–5 pm Oct. 11–12
Why go: Couldn’t make September’s event? Round Two—New Vendors and Fresh Finds.
Local tip: Free admission and easy parking make this a low-stress outing.
Fall Festival & Costume Parade (Long Beach)
Where: Kennedy Plaza, 1 W. Chester St., Long Beach
When: 10 am–5 pm Oct. 11–12; Costume Parade noon Oct. 11 (rain date Oct. 12)
Why go: Pumpkin patch (fee), carousel, hayride wagon, games, music, and a festive parade.
Local tip: Costumes encouraged—plan for wind on the Plaza.
Family Fishing Festival
Where: Hempstead Lake State Park (South & McDonald Ponds), West Hempstead
When: 10 am–3 pm Oct. 18
Why go: Loaner rods, bait, inflatables, pumpkin decorating, and a “Casting for Pumpkins” contest.
Local tip: Over 1,000 trout are stocked—first-timers welcome!
Apple Festival (Massapequa)
Where: Historical Society of the Massapequas, 4755 Merrick Rd., Massapequa
When: 10 am–4 pm Oct. 18
Why go: Pies, crafts, live music, and tours of historic local buildings.
Local tip: The pie table sells out—arrive before noon for the best selection.
Buckley Country Day School Fall Fair
Where: 2 I.U. Willets Rd., Roslyn
When: 11 am–6 pm Oct. 18; noon–5 pm Oct. 19
Why go: Rides, games, and cultural foods on a beautiful campus—community welcome.
Local tip: Wristbands typically offer the best value if your kids love rides.
The Oyster Festival (Signature Event!)
Where: Theodore Roosevelt Park & Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay
When: 11 am–6 pm Oct. 18–19 (rain or shine)
Why go: The largest waterfront festival on LI: shucking contests, pirate shows, midway rides, artisan market, and a legendary food court (oysters 10 ways).
Local tip: Take the free shuttle if offered; parking fills quickly. Bring layers—breezy by the bay.
Rock Hall Country Fair
Where: Rock Hall Museum, 199 Broadway, Lawrence
When: 11 am–5 pm Oct. 18–19
Why go: Colonial historians, pumpkin patch, make-your-own scarecrow, pony rides, and Native American drumming/dance with Red Hawk Arts Council.
Local tip: Explore the museum to learn about the peninsula’s early history.
Gold Coast International Film Festival
Where: Venues across Great Neck & Port Washington
When: Oct. 19–Nov. 7
Why go: Screenings, Q&As, and special events celebrating film and filmmakers—no city commute required.
Local tip: VIP passes sell out—grab tickets early for premiere nights.
Nassau County Feis & Irish Festival
Where: Plattduetsche Park, Franklin Square
When: 9 am–7 pm Oct. 19
Why go: Live music, step dancing, food, kids’ activities, and an outdoor Mass.
Local tip: Bring lawn chairs for the main stage.
Merrick Chamber Fall Festival & Carnival
Where: Merrick LIRR Station (between Merrick & Hewlett Aves.)
When: Carnival: Oct. 24 (rides only) & Oct. 25–26; Street Fair: 10 am–5 pm Oct. 25–26
Why go: Classic fall carnival plus a huge street fair—great for multi-age groups.
Local tip: If you’re only doing rides, Friday night is less crowded.
Village of East Rockaway Fall Festival
Where: Memorial Park, 376 Atlantic Ave., East Rockaway
When: Oct. 25 (weather dependent)
Why go: Biergarten, food, live music, kids’ activities, and the Haunted Grist Mill (opens Oct. 24 & 25).
Local tip: Costumes encouraged for kids—photo ops by the Mill.
Freeport Gem & Mineral Show
Where: Freeport Recreation Center, 130 E. Merrick Rd., Freeport
When: 10 am–5 pm Oct. 25; 10 am–4:30 pm Oct. 26
Why go: 30+ vendors with minerals, fossils, crystals, and jewelry—holiday-gift heaven.
Local tip: Bring a small flashlight to check clarity and inclusions in stones.
November 2025 — Nassau County Fall Events
Cradle of Aviation Spooky Science (Post-Halloween STEM Fun)
Where: Cradle of Aviation Museum, Uniondale
When: 11 am–4 pm Nov. 1–2
Why go: Gremlin scavenger hunt, “night flyers” paper planes, and a Shrinky Dinks science add-on.
Local tip: Pair with the Planetarium for a full day of fun.
Arts & Crafts Fair (Bellmore—Holiday Edition)
Where: American Legion Post 948, 2730 Royle St., Bellmore
When: 10 am–5 pm Nov. 21; 10 am–5 pm Nov. 22; 10 am–4 pm Nov. 23
Why go: Handmade gifts—knitwear, ornaments, candles, baby items, and seasonal décor.

Model Train Show (Hicksville Community Center)
Where: 28 W. Carl St., Hicksville
When: 11 am–4 pm Nov. 22–23
Why go: Multiple operating layouts benefit the Oyster Bay Railway Museum.
Local tip: Arrive early for the best viewing spots; trains captivate little ones.
West Island Model Railroad Club Open House
Where: 485 S. Broadway, Unit 22A, Hicksville
When: 1–5 pm Nov. 28; 1–4 pm Nov. 29–30
Why go: Beloved HO-scale layout, decked out for the holidays—great multigenerational outing.
Local tip: Combine with a hot cocoa stop on Jerusalem Ave. for the whole cozy vibe.
1863 Thanksgiving at Old Bethpage Village Restoration
Where: Round Swamp Rd., Old Bethpage
When: 10 am–4 pm Nov. 29–30
Why go: Step back into Civil War-era Long Island with hearth cooking, fiddle music, and living-history interpreters.
Local tip: Dress in layers; much of the experience is outdoors on historic grounds.
Note: Long Island Restaurant Week also runs Nov. 2–9. Many Nassau eateries participate—check the official list and book early for Friday/Saturday.
December 2025 — Nassau County Fall Events
Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers Open House
Where: 2953 Hempstead Tpke., Levittown
When: 8–10 pm Dec. 5; 1–4 pm Dec. 6–7; 8–10 pm Dec. 12; 1–4 pm Dec. 13–14
Why go: Long Island’s largest O-gauge layout lit for the holidays—pure magic.
Local tip: Evening sessions feel extra festive with the lights.
West Island Model Railroad Club Open House (Encore)
Where: 485 S. Broadway, Unit 22A, Hicksville
When: 7–9 pm Dec. 5; 1–4 pm Dec. 6–7; 7–9 pm Dec. 12; 1–4 pm Dec. 13–14
Why go: Missed November? December brings extended hours and holiday details.
Local tip: Night sessions are quieter and great for photos.
City of Glen Cove Tree Lighting & Merry Tree Festival
Where: Glen Cove Village Square, Glen Cove
When: 1:30–4:30 pm Dec. 6 (tree lighting ~4:45 pm)
Why go: Caroling, community cheer, and the official start to Glen Cove’s holiday season.
Local tip: Warm up with hot chocolate from a nearby café before the countdown.
Indoor Holiday Fair (Wantagh)

Make It a Perfect Fall: Planning Tips
- Parking & timing: For street fairs (Bellmore, Bethpage, Massapequa Park, Mineola, Merrick), arrive at opening for easier parking and shorter food lines.
- Cash & small bills: Many vendors accept cards, but cash = faster checkout at bake sales and kids’ games.
- Kid-friendly picks: Spooky Fest’s Not-So-Spooky path, Family Fishing Festival, Rock Hall Country Fair, Buckley Fall Fair, and the train open houses are perennial hits.
