Happy Monday, everyone! This week's local business of the week is Il Toscano! Located in the heart of Douglaston, be transported to northern Italy inside this lovely restuarant.
We found this gem more than a decade ago when we moved from Manhattan to Little Neck. Located steps from the LIRR and 2 blocks from Northern Blvd, this lovely Italian eatery is very centrally located.
Pre-pandemic, Il Toscano was our favorite go-to date night spot. The ambience reminds me of when I visited northern Italy. Excellent & attentive service, fresh & delicious food every single time.
During the pandemic, we order take out every other week. This weekend, we ordered my FAVORITE salad [the Toscano Salad with roasted beets, endive, & watercress], + penne alla pesto with grilled chicken, chicken parm & I tried pasta special: asparagus ravioli with fresh red & yellow tomatoes in a pesto sauce.
I LOVED the asparagus ravioli! Such a great combination of flavors with the pesto, fresh tomatoes & asparagus!!! As always, everything was super fresh.
